GREEN CLEANING

Bee-Clean is committed to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and to integrating sound, appropriate company policies and social practices into our day-to-day business activities. It is an important part of who we are and how we operate. CSR is about doing the right thing and considering the impact we have on the environment. It's also what our clients and the public expect from us.

At Bee-Clean, green cleaning has been a part of our culture for a long time - well before it became the industry norm. Our "Green" culture is more than a collection of written policies, but a living belief and daily practice demonstrated in a number of ways. For example:

CIMS - GREEN BUILDING CERTIFICATION WITH HONOUR

CIMS (Cleaning Industry Management Standard) is the North American benchmark accreditation for cleaning companies. It applies to management, operations, performance systems, and processes.

Our CIMS-GB Certification validates that Bee-Clean has undergone a comprehensive assessment by an accredited CIMS-GB assessor and successfully demonstrated a commitment to the delivery of environmental services designed to meet customer needs and expectations. We are proud to be the first Canadian participant to achieve this certification. Bee-Clean is audited yearly to ensure compliance and best practices are continually being executed.

By implementing the CIMS-GB principles into the organization's operations, Bee-Clean has established it's capability to provide green cleaning services and assist customers in achieving points under the LEED-Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance (LEED-EBOM) Green Building Rating System.

PROduct innovation

Bee-Clean's unique environmental "Green Building Services" provide a focus on reducing our environmental footprint through the use of conscious operations and stewardship.

Product recommendations, such as the Lotus Pro, transform ordinary tap water into the world's most effective all-natural commercial cleaner by infusing it with ozone.  The Tersano team, through innovation and advanced quality control, are continuing to Change the Way the World Cleans by improving the field test results for it's toxin-free cleaning solution - Stabilized Aqueous Ozone.

sustainability

Bee-Clean believes by reducing the level of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) entering the environment, and trapping/removing airborne particulates, we hope to limit our carbon footprint even more. Using environmentally friendly, less toxic, products and equipment is just one step in the process of implementing a successful eco-friendly cleaning program. How the janitorial staff uses cleaning products and equipment, along with records and training practices, also impacts the program's success.

We feel sustainable cleaning is so important that we've incorporated CIMS-GB guidelines into our operating practices. Some of the best practices that are currently in use within our various portfolios include:

  • Use of hygienic cleaning systems with microfiber technology
  • Use of green cleaning agents, materials and consumables
  • Hand touch area sanitizing and cross contamination prevention
  • Water reduction (refuse, paper, energy)

DAY CLEANING

We understand that not all initial reactions to day time cleaning is a favourable one. However, based on our experience, we believe that if communicated properly, the benefits of a building that is serviced during the day is quite positive, including opportunities for lights to be turned off earlier, thus reducing energy consumption.
